Get Involved

Do you have a spare five minutes once every day? You can pray for the City of Edinburgh - or more specifically its people. If you have some more time perhaps more prayer. If you have some more time to spare for prayer, consider bringing a small group together to pray. Encourage others to do the same - be an enthusiast for the Lord's work in the city.

If you have a half day to spare, volunteer to help at an ECM centre (Pilrig Christian Centre or West Pilton). And if you have a specific skill (manual or vocational) it could be used more specifically in the Mission's work. Here are just some examples:

  • typing/secretarial/office - help in the office attached to one of the teams
  • computer - help maintain ECM's computers, help develop computer training programmes for clients who want to become more active job seekers
  • social work - help develop the range of services available through ECM
  • nursing, medical - helping at centres
  • training skills - staff and volunteers are always needing to up date their skill base
  • PR/communications - lead a project to raise the Mission's profile in Edinburgh and the surrounding area
ECM is able to use most skills and with the growing client base and the urgency of extending the Mission's work we need more and more help, short term or long term. Take that first step and call the ECM office.

You can also support the Mission's work in other ways - by donating clothes, or food, and of course by financial giving.
