West Pilton Prayer
West Pilton Christian Centre
How would we describe the work/vision of the centre:
- To share the gospel of Jesus Christ in meaningful, respectful and caring ways;
- To asssist people to grow in God, to join a local church, and to find their ministry in the body of christ;
- To undergird people with prayer, and to provide them (in cooperation with other support and care organisations) with support and encouragement in thier life, family and work; and to work and co-operate with Christians, churches and other Christian grups for the good of the gospel.
Generally the community (this includes Christians in the area) views the centre as:
- A 'visible' Christian contact point in the community... a half way house;
- A 'church' like other churches in the area;
- A centre committed to friendship evangelism;
- A drop-in centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What do we need (prayer requests):
- An active, vibrant team ministry... centre-based (kitchen, table sales, floor ministry); outreach team, and a prayer team.
- For the centre to be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Friday. For focused/group ministries. Also, to be open during the summer holidays. Needless to say, we need more volunteers and a full time women/children's worker.
