The support team are Fiona, Maria, Katie, Olivia and Duncan who work together to make sure our organization functions smoothly and that people hear about what we are doing and catch our vision.
Duncan Cuthill - CEO
"I believe with all my heart that the city will be transformed by a prayerful, strong, vibrant and growing City Mission which is 'stimulating and strengthening the church’s mission in Edinburgh.'”
Sarah Johnson - Outreach Team Leader
"I followed God’s lead into work for Edinburgh City Mission over 10 years ago. While my role has changed during the last ten years my heart has always been to bring light, open eyes that can’t see and release people from their ‘captivities’."
Fiona Russell - Office Manager
"My role at Edinburgh City Mission brings together so much of my experience, who God has made me to be and what he has put on my heart. I love supporting our amazing outreach team in our vision to stimulate and strengthen the church’s mission in Edinburgh, bringing help and hope into the lives of those experiencing hardship."
Natalia Pelttari - Mission Strengthener (Salaam Team Leader)
"I love Edinburgh City Mission’s calling to go where Jesus would go, to the despised and the forgotten places to bring God’s light of forgiveness, redemption and love."
Lydia Newton - Mission Strengthener (Salaam Team)
"I am excited by what God is doing in our city in terms of facilitating connection and building strong relationships between refugees and volunteers."
Maria Reyes - Mission Strengthener (Salaam and Nations) and Comms Manager
"I love to be part of a team that seeks to see lives transformed because of the redemptive Gospel, the one that restores the soul, but also that brings social and economic justice."
Miles Libke - Mission Strengthener (Food Team)
"I am a Mission Strengthener because I desire to see people across our city experience the freedom that God has for them in all areas of their life. I have a huge heart for the local church, and seeing the church step into all that she is called to be - that’s why we’re here."
Charity Pritchard - Mission Strengthener (Food Team)
"My faith has always been intertwined with social action and the recognition that God cares for the whole person: mind, body and soul. Indeed to care for the whole person is to truly love them. Since starting working life I have passionately pursued work in Christian social care settings. Working as a Mission Strengthener is really just another outworking of that simple faith that God loves me and treasures all people as his children."
Andy Boyle - Mission Strengthener (Food Team)
"I love meeting our guests and hearing their stories. It’s a great opportunity to support and show them the love of Jesus. I constantly talk about what Jesus did for me and how He has transformed me from the man I was to the man I am now with Him living in me."
Olivia Lee - Volunteers Coordinator
"In my new role I am excited to work with the many amazing volunteers at Edinburgh City Mission, seeing the current volunteers supported and encouraged in their roles, whilst also allowing us to expand our volunteering capacity. Our volunteers are absolutely key to what we do, so ensuring they feel uplifted and prepared is vitally important. In investing in our many volunteers my hope is that we will enable them to continue the wonderful work they do."
Sarah Whyte - Volunteer Mission Strengthener
"I grew up on an Island in the Bahamas and watched my parents work in the mission field there, I think this background really built within me a passion for not only sharing God's love spiritually but also practically, particularly, for those who are vulnerable.
I knew that this was something that God had placed on my heart and so when I came to University I was keen to serve in any way and I have now been volunteering with Edinburgh City Mission as their Support Worker and have really been welcomed into the team while I balanced my passions for outreach as I finished my University studies."
Katie Bogie - Volunteer Support Worker (Referrals)
"So many people I meet at the Basics Bank are working desperately hard to keep themselves and their families supported, and so often the crisis they are in results from unfortunate circumstances that could happen to anyone at any time.
Each week I find myself admiring the way these hardships are faced with resilience and openness. It is wonderful to be able to sit down with each person at the basics bank to listen, discuss ways to help difficult situations and pray."
Maisie Crossley - Volunteer Mission Strengthener (Food Team and Clothesbank+)
"To me, mission is a natural outworking of the gospel; it is what Jesus tells us to do and shows us how to do and enables us to do. I don't think it has to look a certain way - God's power is enough to work with whatever and whoever he has got (which I find a real joy to remember) but by Gods Grace, we have his spirit to help us be good vessels for him."
2 Corinthians 4:7: " ...but we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us."
