Who’s my Neighbour? Friday, 23rd October 2020
Earlier in 2020, just a couple of weeks before the lockdown started, Edinburgh City Mission expanded its work among the most vulnerable in our city to encompass refugees and asylum seekers through a ministry that we are calling Salaam (Arabic for ‘Hello’ and ‘Peace’). In the Bible, the equivalent Hebrew word, Shalom, means far more than the absence of war; it paints a picture of harmony, completion and wholeness; the state of the world as the loving Creator intended it. Our prayer for our friends who have been forced to leave their homes and now live in Scotland, is that they find safety, peace, and the wholeness that comes from knowing that we are loved by the Heavenly Father.
