In response to Covid -19 Central Church Edinburgh, in partnership with Edinburgh City Mission, saw the need to provide a source of emergency clothing for those most in need in our City. People can find themselves short of clothes for many reasons and in need of a helping hand. The Clothesbank+ can be accessed via our straight-forward online referral form.
If someone has a cough or fever, or are living with someone who displays these symptoms, they can still be referred to us, but should not attend the Clothesbank+.
There are a number of health issues that should be identified in the referral process. Read the Government's guidelines on social distancing for vulnerable adults here.
If anyone has any of these health conditions, please state their health condition on the referral form in the section about "risks to client and volunteer safety", and phone our office (0131-225-9445) to discuss the referral with us.
Anyone with Covid-19 symptoms should not, under any circumstances, attend the Clothesbank+.
Local agencies and practitioners such as doctors, support workers, social workers or church ministers who wish to refer families or individuals for clothing at our Clothesbank+ can do so clicking on the button below.Referral Form
(Updated 11th January 2022)
The Clothesbank+ is currently accepting donations of all good quality children’s and adult’s clothes, shoes, bedding and towels. There is a particular need for jogging bottoms for all ages and sizes, men’s and women’s trainers, bedding, leggings and men’s jeans. However, all good quality items are welcome!
Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Clothesbank+. We are so grateful for your generosity.
Please note: although most donations are provided to Clothesbank+ referees, a small portion of donations are sold to raise money for essential Clothesbank+ items, and if they are not suitable we will donate them to other charities in the city.
